FAQ

  • I'm considering making a reservation, what now?

We would love to schedule a complimentary “sniff tour” for you and your bulldog (otherwise referred to as a meet & greet). These appointments last about 20-30 minutes and are an opportunity for your dog to check-out our home (read: play in the back yard) while we talk about what their needs are.

  • How soon should we book our reservation?

While we happily accept last minute reservations when available, our calendar fills up quickly since we only take a few dogs at a time. Please don’t hold off contacting us directly to discuss availability because you’re worried it is too soon. We are happy to pencil in “tentative” dates on our calendar, which we can adjust, at no cost, once your plans are final. We do charge a $50 deposit to hold the dates, but as long as you follow the change and cancellation policy the deposit is refundable.

  • What do we pack for our pups stay?

We have bowls, crates, a variety of treats, and plenty of toys here. Along with their food and medicine, if your pup is limited in what they can eat please pack familiar treats. Overnight guests would benefit from a blanket that smells like home.

  • What is your change and cancellation policy?

Reservations cancelled less than 72 hours before the first day of the reservation will forfeit their deposit.

“Only child” reservations, which prevent our business from accepting other clients, must be cancelled or changed two (2) weeks prior to the first day of your stay to get a refund. Changes to “only child” reservations that occur within one week of the first day of your stay will forfeit their deposit.

Last minute changes are common and unavoidable these days so refund requests outside of the refund policy will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

  • How many bulldogs do you bullysit at a time?

Short answer: on average we have two or three dogs per day, but we have had as many as six when two families have a sibling pair.

Although we only accept three families at a time, it is possible that your reservation will overlap with a daycare client one day, two more dogs at the beginning of their stay, two different dogs at the end of their stay, and also have several days where they get the joy of being an “only child” without paying the “only child” premium.

  • Where does everyone sleep?

It depends where you feel they would be most comfortable.

We have found that a majority of our guests prefer to sleep crated, but your pup is welcome to sleep in bed with us if that is what they are used to. Bulldogs may also choose to sleep. in our living room with the couch/gas fireplace.

There is no need to pack a crate - we have crates here. Crates are kept in common areas and we leave their doors open during the day to allow access for dogs who need a break.

  • Are there any specific rules or requirements?

We ask that you share as much information as you can about how your bulldog does with other dogs (smaller or larger, male and female, fixed and unaltered) since we use this information when booking multiple dogs. If your dog is reactive to other dogs then they must be booked as an “only child”. If your dog has ever bitten, please consult this chart prior to our meet & greet so we can discuss the incident. With the exception of teething and inhibited bites during play we are not able to accept dogs with a history of biting.

We ask that pet pawrents give their bulldog a bath and trim their nails pior to sleepovers, especially if they will be staying a while. We utilize an online agreement to outline specific requirements for your dogs stay (i.e. prior to drop-off you confirm your dog does not have fleas or communicable diseases and has been properly vaccinated). This form also grants us the ability to seek emergency medical care for your dog and owner liability.

  • What will our bulldog do during their stay?

While your bulldog is staying with us they are a member of our family - they wake up and have breakfast with us, spend the day in our home and outside in the yard, play with other dogs and go for walks, run dog-friendly errands (like picking the kids up from school or coffee runs), have dinner while our family is sitting at the table, snuggle while watching TV, and go to bed wherever is most comfortable for them. Daycare or boarding at ComfortaBULL Dog Care is the fun of being part of a new pack, stimulation via new experiences, and constant attention.

  • Do you only accept bulldogs?

For the most part - yes. French, English, Olde English, and breeds mixed with bulldog (Frenchbo, Frug, etc.). However, we do accept “siblings” from the same home regardless of breed. For example, if you have a Frenchie and a Basset Hound, we would be happy to have both of them stay. We try to be mindful of the unique needs of the breed when booking multiple dogs so we believe that dogs who live in a home with a bulldog may still be a good fit for boarding and daycare.
